I’m so excited about the prospect of teaching you Italian in a way that’s totally immersive, fun, and stimulating. It will not only develop your ability to converse in everyday language, but will also give you the opportunity to get to know the local culture and its many nuances.

My name is Nicla Marinelli and I’m from Rome. I studied languages — English, French, and Spanish — at high school and lived and worked in the UK for 20 years. I relocated to Salento in 2020 and am currently living in Torre Chianca near Lecce. I have over five years’ experience teaching Italian and English privately, and I have always tailored my lessons to each individual client in order to achieve tangible results in a short period of time.

My main priority when teaching Italian is to give my clients the ability to communicate with ease and build meaningful connections with the locals, whether for work or leisure. I personally believe that there’s no better way to learn Italian than by being immersed in everyday moments, like ordering an espresso and a pastry at a local bar, strolling through the city and enjoying its architecture and atmosphere, or visiting the local gardens. Whatever activity you choose, I will tailor my lessons to make the most of our time together and, to make it even more engaging, I will also take into account any specific interests you may have.

I have worked with people from all walks of life and I am able to establish an instant rapport with my clients. I have often been told that I am very personable, with an instinctive ability to tune into people’s needs and sensibilities.
